Role description

Role Overview

As a Staff Commissioning Engineer, you will serve as the primary point of accountability for commissioning activities across your assigned data center projects. You will own the full commissioning lifecycle — from factory witness testing through integrated systems testing and formal turnover — ensuring all electrical, and EPMS systems are delivered in alignment with design intent, Owner Project Requirements, and Crusoe's operational readiness standards.

What You Will Do

Serve as the on-site electrical subject matter expert for all commissioning activities, serving as the primary escalation point for technical issues across all project phases. Oversee third-party commissioning agents, review contractor submittals, and ensure Owner Project Requirements remain aligned with commissioning scope throughout the project lifecycle.

Why It Might Be a Fit

We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data center commissioning, construction, or critical infrastructure delivery
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent commissioning experience considered (CxA certification a plus)
  • Deep knowledge of commissioning levels L1 through L5 and the associated documentation and testing requirements at each phase
  • Hands-on experience with data center systems including power distribution and EPMS infrastructure
  • Proven experience managing third-party commissioning agents and holding vendors accountable to scope, schedule, and quality
  • Ability to review and interpret technical documentation including construction drawings, single-line diagrams, submittals, and test procedures
  • Strong cross-functional coordination skills with the ability to align construction, engineering, controls, and operations teams around commissioning objectives
  • Experience with issue tracking, risk management, and project reporting across multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Solid understanding of safety and compliance requirements within active construction and commissioning environments
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required (75% travel)

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and equity packages
  • Restricted Stock Units
  • Paid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programs
  • Comprehensive health, dental & vision insurance
  • Employer contributions to HSA account
  • Paid parental leave
  • Paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
