ICT Infrastructure Architect
FluidStack — Austin, Texas, United States · Remote · Senior · $100k - $200k/yearly
Role description
Role Overview
Design and build data centers, own end-to-end physical implementation of the data center network, and collaborate with teams on power, cooling, space, pathways, cabinets, and racks.
What You Will Do
Break down DCN logical port maps into physical cross-connect and patching schedules, automate port-to-fiber mapping, define cassette types, and select optics by reach and loss budget.
Why It Might Be a Fit
You'll work with a team that's singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, and you'll have the opportunity to own things end to end and take on scope without being asked.
Requirements
- Designed hyperscale or cloud-provider data center networks (1000+ racks, 100K+ fiber strands)
- Expert in structured cabling systems (Corning, Panduit, CommScope) and MPO/MTP ecosystems
- Knowledge of optical standards (IEEE 802.3, OIF) and transceiver technologies (400G/800G DR4, FR4, LR4, SR8) deeply
- Command of fiber loss budgets, dispersion, and testing methodologies (OTDR, insertion loss, polarity verification)
- Integration of designs into DCIM tools (NetBox, Remedy, or custom hyperscaler equivalents)
Benefits
- Competitive total compensation package (salary + equity)
- Retirement or pension plan, in line with local norms
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Generous PTO policy, in line with local norms
- Total compensation may also include equity in the form of restricted stock units
