Microgrid Architect Lead, Power Generation
FluidStack — Austin, Texas, United States · Remote · Senior
Role description
Role Overview
As a Microgrid Architect Lead, you will own the system design basis for an islanded grid, treating the block as a product rather than a project, and driving out variation to achieve repeatable builds. You will write internal grid code, own conformance evidence, and set standards for vendors and EPCs. You will also build the model of record, set stability and protection philosophy, and close the loop from the field back into the standard.
What You Will Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include delivering a real islanded or weak-grid power system, building models with your own hands, and producing load flow, short circuit, and stability results. You will also design around grid-forming inverter control and inverter-dominated protection, and set standards that OEMs and EPCs comply with.
Why It Might Be a Fit
This role is a fit for someone who has delivered a real islanded or weak-grid power system, has experience with deep EMT work, and has personally produced load flow, short circuit, and stability results. You will be part of a team that is singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, and you will have the opportunity to work on a problem that is at the frontier of AI.
Requirements
- Delivered a real islanded or weak-grid power system at 100MW or more
- Built models with your own hands, deep EMT work in PSCAD or equivalent
- Produced load flow, short circuit, and stability results that decisions were made on
- Designed around grid-forming inverter control and inverter-dominated protection
- Set standards that OEMs and EPCs comply with
- Frozen a design, said no to changes that would have been a small improvement and a large disruption, and watched what a late revision does to a supply chain
Benefits
- Pay equity and transparency
- Equal Employment Opportunity Employer
