Role description

Role Overview

The Resident Electrical Engineer, Modular R&D will own the electrical systems of the modular product on the line, including power distribution, grounding, and controls integration. They will live on the Phoenix manufacturing floor, catching wiring and termination issues at the station where they happen, and dispositions on the spot. They will also answer electrical RFIs same-day from the floor, engineer the fix into the next revision, and close the loop to design.

What You Will Do

The main day-to-day responsibilities and outcomes of this role include owning the electrical systems of the modular product, living on the Phoenix manufacturing floor, catching issues at the station, and dispositions on the spot. They will also run first-article reviews and electrical checkout in person, with findings documented rigorously enough to drive design and process change.

Why It Might Be a Fit

This role may be a fit for someone who has engineered electrical systems hands-on for complex physical products, modular construction, or critical facilities. They should have experience working on a shop floor or production line, and be able to disposition a nonconformance in the moment. They should also be able to iterate fast without losing configuration control, and be equally credible in a design review and at the station with a multimeter.

Requirements

  • Engineered electrical systems hands-on for complex physical products, modular construction, or critical facilities
  • Worked on a shop floor or production line, and dispositioning a nonconformance in the moment is familiar work
  • Supported production launches of your own designs and stayed with them until the line ran clean
  • Drawings build clean: fabricators and electricians rarely call, and when they do, you fix the drawing, not just the unit
  • Iterate fast without losing configuration control: every floor fix lands in the released drawing set, not in tribal knowledge
  • PE license, working knowledge of NEC and UL 508A panel standards, data center power distribution experience, panel checkout and QC background, or strong DFM instincts

Benefits

  • Pay equity and transparency
