Staff Electrical Engineer - Low Voltage
Lambda — San Francisco, California, United States · Remote · Staff+ · $120k - $180k/yearly
Role description
Role Overview
As a Staff Electrical Engineer - Low Voltage, you will own electrical design standards and reference architectures for low-voltage systems supporting high-density AI infrastructure. You will lead design from transformer secondary through switchgear, UPS systems, distribution equipment, busway, and rack-level power delivery.
What You Will Do
Your responsibilities will include developing architectures for 480V and 415V, AC systems serving GPU clusters and supporting infrastructure, defining requirements for low-voltage switchgear, switchboards, UPS systems, static transfer switches, PDUs, RPPs, busway, rack PDUs, grounding, metering, and monitoring.
Why It Might Be a Fit
You will evaluate greenfield, retrofit, and partner-provided designs for reliability, efficiency, maintainability, constructability, cost, and schedule, and perform or oversee load-flow, short-circuit, selective-coordination, arc-flash, voltage-drop, and power-quality studies.
Requirements
- Have experience designing low-voltage electrical systems for data centers, mission-critical facilities, or large industrial environments.
- Understand low-voltage distribution, UPS topologies, switchgear, busway, grounding, rack-level distribution, and electrical monitoring.
- Have experience with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, or comparable electrical analysis software.
- Understand applicable electrical and safety requirements, including NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NETA standards.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Benefits
- Generous cash & equity compensation
- Health, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents
- Wellness and commuter stipends for select roles
- 401k Plan with 2% company match (USA employees)
- Flexible paid time off plan that we all actually use
