Role description

Role Overview

The Deputy Manager is the Infrastructure Operations Manager's right hand on site, taking ownership of the operational side of the data centre. This is a hands-on operational role, not purely administrative, where you'll organise the team day to day, keep the white space running, own documentation, SOPs, and training, and support deployment handovers.

What You Will Do

You'll take day-to-day ownership of operations on site, oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of HPC and GPU systems, identify and address operational risks, and propose improvements to make the site run more efficiently.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The Deputy holds the day-to-day operation together, keeping the white space running, making sure the team knows the procedures and the procedures are written down, and providing continuity when the Manager is unavailable.

Requirements

  • Proven operational experience in a data centre environment
  • Strong working knowledge of HPC and GPU installations
  • Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Collaborative operator who works well inside a team
  • Comfortable relocating to, and living in, Narvik
  • Adaptable to a fast-moving scale-up environment

Benefits

  • Opportunity to help shape the operating standards behind a next-generation AI cloud platform
  • Real ownership and impact in scaling high-performance, sustainable data centre operations
  • Chance to play a meaningful role in a fast-moving environment
