Role Overview

The Senior Software Engineer — Tooling & Automation will own the development of automation, integrations, and unified monitoring capabilities for Vultr’s GIOC in Chennai. The role will connect multiple monitoring, SIEM, infrastructure, and provider platforms into a single operational view, while automating alert routing, ticketing, paging, escalation, and SLA tracking.

What You Will Do

Analyze engineering alert streams, develop a robust notification layer, collaborate with cross-functional teams, engineer on-call notification workflows, architect a comprehensive single-pane dashboard, and maintain continuous infrastructure visibility.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of experience in Platform Engineering or similar domains, with significant expertise in NMS platforms, Grafana, and major SIEM environments. Profound understanding of Vultr’s existing monitoring ecosystem, infrastructure stack, and standard operational procedures is required.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of experience in Platform Engineering or similar domains
• Significant expertise in NMS platforms, Grafana, and major SIEM environments
• Profound understanding of Vultr’s existing monitoring ecosystem, infrastructure stack, and standard operational procedures
• Proven track record of building complex integrations using Python and RESTful APIs
• Extensive experience crafting or customizing sophisticated dashboards via Kibana, Power BI, or similar visualization toolsets
• Deep knowledge of ITSM workflows—specifically Jira and Mattermost—and the technical mapping of event severity to incident metadata
