Design Release Engineer, Modular R&D
FluidStack — Austin, Texas, United States · In-Person · Junior
Role description
Role Overview
The Design Release Engineer will own the release process from engineering to production, ensuring drawings, BOMs, and specs are complete, approved, and released to manufacturing at the right revision, every time. The role requires working across disciplines, including design, supply chain, quality, and production, to drive release communication and ensure BOM integrity. The team is focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack, and building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI.
What You Will Do
The Design Release Engineer will be responsible for owning the release process, administering ECOs and ECNs, controlling revision history, and dispositioning changes across in-flight units, inventory, and supplier orders. The role will also involve keeping BOM integrity across systems, ensuring engineering and manufacturing BOMs are accurate, and resolving discrepancies between as-designed, as-built, and as-maintained configurations.
Why It Might Be a Fit
The ideal candidate will have experience in release or configuration management for manufactured hardware, have administered ECOs across live production, and be able to disposition changes across units already in build, sitting in inventory, and already shipped. The candidate will also be able to work across disciplines, catch immature releases, and untangle as-designed vs. as-built messes at a company scaling faster than its release discipline.
